Haier, a global leader in the home appliance industry, has chosen Biovitae for its I-Pro Shine Series Biovitae Collection. This is the world’s first line of dishwashers featuring active sanitization using visible light. The technology works through a photodynamic mechanism that inactivates microorganisms on dishes and the interior surfaces of the tub, without the use of chemical additives or UV radiation.
How it works
The principle is the same as that underlying all Biovitae applications: light operating in the Soret band of the visible spectrum acts directly on microorganisms, inactivating them. But how does this work inside the dishwasher? The stainless steel of the tub reflects the light, ensuring uniform distribution across the entire interior surface.
Operating procedures
The I-Pro Shine Series Biovitae Collection features three dedicated programs.
- Sani-Clean 45°: a low-temperature cycle that removes up to 99.99% of bacteria thanks to Biovitae light, completely UV-free, enabling effective and sustainable sanitization—unlike traditional intensive cycles that rely on high temperatures;
- Sani-Dry Light: a water-free sanitization cycle that removes up to 93% of bacteria in two hours, eliminating them not only from dishes but also from personal items (such as glasses, keys, etc.) and from the dishwasher itself;
- Baby Care: a washing cycle designed to eliminate bacteria from items intended for children (baby bottles, pacifiers, etc.).
Finally, the Odor Safe Mode option is available, which, without using water, reduces odors for up to 10 hours, allowing the dishwasher to be loaded throughout the day before running a wash cycle.
